Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella spp. live in the biofilm of floor drains in meat, dairy, and fish processing plants. Environmental swab plans find them before they end up in the product — but something must be done about it systematically. Green Drain™ eliminates the P-trap as a reservoir.
Dairy or meat production has dozens to hundreds of floor drains. The CIP/SIP regime doesn't reach them all. A HACCP plan is a legal requirement and the sanitary inspectorate checks that it is applied — and the BRC/IFS auditor, during the annual audit, pays special attention to environmental monitoring.
The general framework is set by Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 on the general principles of food law, while the obligation to apply procedures based on HACCP principles is laid down by Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs. Food contact materials are governed by Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 (framework) and Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 (plastics). BRC and IFS are not legislation but private industry standards required by major buyers and exporters in the EU.

Large facilities install them on each line during scheduled annual maintenance. One week of coordinated work with the technical service.
The technician maps all drains by line: intake, processing, packaging, and dispatch.
Written specification with sizes, certificates, and SDS for the QA department.
Environmental swab pre- and post-test on 10 drains — one month of monitoring.
By line in weekly cleaning cycles — without production downtime.
The meat, dairy, confectionery, and bakery industries in Croatia operate according to BRC and IFS standards for export. A typical facility has 4–5 different sizes of P-traps, depending on the line. Central gully channels go up to 150–156 mm. Freezers at -25 to -40°C require resistance to thermal shock.
Auditors are requesting documentation of active drain control as part of the environmental hygiene monitoring programme. Listing under the HACCP International programme (RG-04), together with our standard operating procedure template, covers that requirement.
Silicone is resistant to NaOH up to 5 %, HNO₃ up to 3 %, peracetic acid up to 2 %, and quaternary ammonium compounds. It can withstand continuous thermal exposure up to 100 °C and short-term exposure up to 120 °C.
The material is compliant with EU 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 for indirect food contact via the drainage system. We will provide the SDS and the Declaration of Conformity upon request.
Green Drain™ doesn't work alone — for maximum drain control it's combined with GD Uri-Tabs™ (urinals) and GreenSwirl™ (drain unblocking).
Patented silicone seal for floor drains in processing plants, cold storage facilities, and packing houses. EU 1935/2004 food-safe, HACCP CCP for drain contamination.
Bio-enzyme urinal tablets for worker washroom facilities. EU 528/2012 BPR compliant, does not enter production areas.
Biofilm bio-cleaning in production drains. CIP-compatible, fat and organic residue breakdown without harsh alkalis.
We come to the site, map the drains, and provide a written recommendation — no cost, no obligation.
