Frequently Asked Questions

Most conventional drain openers are based on sodium hydroxide — a strong caustic base that causes severe chemical burns and attacks pipes and seals. GreenSwirl uses sodium bisulfate instead, a mild acid also used to regulate pH in swimming pools and as an acidity regulator in food production. It dissolves the blockage, not the pipe—up to 4× more effective in the manufacturer's laboratory testing.

How to use GreenSwirl™.

SINK AND BASIN

Cut the sachet open and pour the whole contents into the drain. Add a little warm water — just enough that no granulate is left on surrounding surfaces. Leave for 15–30 minutes, then flush with plenty of hot water.

STUBBORN BLOCKAGE

Add a second sachet and a little warm water, then leave it to work overnight. Rinse thoroughly with hot water the next day.

TOILET

Pour two sachets into the bowl and leave overnight. If the water level is high, wait for it to drop by about half before flushing. Old discolouration at the bottom of the bowl lifts as well.

IMPORTANT

Once standing water has cleared, dry any metal surfaces to avoid discolouration or staining. Do not open a sachet unless you are using it straight away. Read the labelling and safety data sheet before use.

Works in every type of drain — floor drains, sinks, showers and toilets. Suitable for plastic and copper pipes and for septic systems. According to the manufacturer it does not damage pipes or seals.
