What ASHRAE and Telcordia say.

The ASHRAE TC9.9 and Telcordia GR-63 guidelines recommend limits for corrosive gases in spaces housing IT equipment. If drain biofilm is not under control, actual values in the building can exceed those recommendations.

Standards and framework

A sector with strict standards.

The ASHRAE TC9.9 guidelines and the Telcordia GR-63-CORE industry requirements set recommended limits for corrosive gases in spaces housing IT equipment. The Uptime Institute rates reliability from Tier I to Tier IV, and ANSI/TIA-942 further describes environmental requirements. These are industry guidelines and standards, not legislation. Separately, more customers are asking for their data to be hosted in Croatia — usually for contractual reasons and because of their own clients' requirements, rather than because the General Data Protection Regulation explicitly requires it.

Croatian data centres (Combis, A1, HT, Span, S&T, Altus IT, MainStream) are built to Tier II–IV standards. Sanitary and staff auxiliary rooms are built conventionally (50–58 mm). The mechanical zone, CRAC rooms, and UPS rooms are the technical side — required to withstand temperatures up to +60 °C in hot aisles.
